Fic in a Box Letter 2022

Thank you for creating for me! I'm within_a_dream on AO3, and I have a tag of previous letters if you want to see more of my requests/get a better idea of what I like.

I’m requesting fic and art for all canons, fanvids for all of my visual fandoms, as well as various other media (I am requesting podfic and remixes for some fandoms, but not all). For all canons, I’m requesting any length of fic. One 10k fic is great, many smaller fics are also great! The same goes for art – one long comic is great, as are many small doodles, or anything in between. I’ve tried to give prompts suitable to both ends of the spectrum, but if you want more detail on anything, please feel free to ask through the mods!

Length of prompts is definitely not indicative of how much I want something – I absolutely love every ship and canon I requested, I just have more letters and/or unhinged IMs to friends to crib from for some of them. Also, I did my best to make sure medium tags are up to date, but the first seven fandoms in this letter are copy-pasted from earlier letters and I may have missed one. If a medium is in my AO3 request, a) I definitely want it even if I forgot to put it in the letter, and b) you can almost definitely find my general thoughts on the medium in another request.

You are also welcome to use any prompts from prior exchanges for this one, assuming they match the ship and fandom. For modern AUs I've prompted in prior exchanges, consider my modern AU DNW waived.

• Unrequested noncanon pregnancy/childbirth. Canon pregnancies are great, and pregnancies I’ve requested are great. I’m also fine with characters having kids in a way that implies they were once pregnant, discussing pregnancy as a possibility, and implied mpreg, just don’t get any of my requested characters pregnant ‘onscreen’


• Unrequested modern/mundane AUs (exception: Reddit post fanworks can be set in a modern AU)


• A/B/O – knotting and animalistic characters are fine, heats/sex pollen/etc is fine, I just don’t like the defined biological roles


• Trans characters having PIV sex or getting pregnant, unless requested (other vaginal penetration or use of dicks is great!)


• Permanent removal of genitals (temporary is fine!)

General Likes

• I love all tenses and POVs!


• Where I requested individual characters, gen is great, as are any ships I didn’t DNW. Any background or secondary ships I don’t DNW are also great! I ship basically everything, so go wild


• For fanvids - I am down for any style or lyrical content of music that you'd like. I love fast and rhythmic cuts that are in time to the music, but slower-paced vids are also good! I have no visual triggers


• For podfic - I have no preferences as to presence/amount of background music or sound effects, or pre-fic or extra-fic content (whether you include the title, summary, author's notes, tags, etc). I just really love being able to listen to fics! I haven't checked which authors in my fandoms have podfic permissions, but I do welcome podfics of my own works.


• Fic about canonical children, Accidental Child Acquisition of OC children (especially for characters who are not at all parental and have no idea what to do with kids)


• Casefic, with a loose definition of "case" that encompasses mysteries for mystery fandoms, paranormal investigations for fantasy canons, espionage for spy canons, etc


• Ghost stories! Particular favorites include the "ghostly hitchhiker" urban legend and the setup where characters need to spend the night in a haunted house for Reasons

• Any and all sex acts (vaginal, anal, oral, manual, frottage, intercrural, fisting, double penetration, sounding, etc) are great! I have no top/bottom or dom/sub preferences.


• My favorite words for genitals are cock and cunt, but I have no objections to whatever you’d like to use


• Pretty much anything under the BDSM umbrella. I am especially into unnegotiated or undernegotiated kink, and characters falling into kinky dynamics or things they enjoy. I have no dom/sub preferences


• Noncon is always welcome – if you want to know more about what I like in dubcon or noncon I have a general list of kinks and tropes here in my Consent Issues letter. I generally prefer noncon with an OC or canonical antagonist as the rapist, and "fuck or die" setups are also great!


• Roleplay – I am into both serious roleplay and goofy scenarios that the characters can’t quite take seriously, and I am especially fond of rape roleplay/consensual non-consent


• Group sex, orgies, and gangbangs


• Gunplay, especially fucking someone with a gun

Characters/Ships

• Amanda Frisby & Guy Frisby (Band Sinister) – I love these siblings so much!!! I would love to see more of their time together pre-canon, or how their relationship might change (or not) post-canon. I love how protective and supportive Guy is of Amanda and would love to see the two of the m talking about her novel as she’s writing it and pitching it to publishers. Would also love to see the two of them get to know each other’s SOs more after the events of the novel, or getting to spend time outside of Yarlcote. Or perhaps the two of them writing to each other post-canon now that they’re spending more time apart than they probably ever have before.


• Amanda Frisby & Lord Corvin (Band Sinister) - I just want to see these two interact more, they seem like they would get along like a house on fire and Corvin would be a valuable resource for Amanda’s writing (although I’m sure many of his stories would be far too scandalous to be written into her novels unedited). I would really love to see Corvin serve as Amanda’s introduction to the wider world after she’s spent most of her life trapped in her home, possibly to Guy’s dismay. And I so want to see more of Corvin and Amanda talking about her first novel!


• Amanda Frisby & The Murder (Band Sinister) - The glimpses we got of Amanda’s interactions with everyone in the book were so much fun, and I want to see more of her interacting with anyone or everyone! John giving her art lessons, Corvin talking to her about her writing, talking science with Harry and Sheridan...I’d love to see how the other characters’ relationships with Amanda change over time, too – when do they get comfortable enough around her to make dirty jokes, for example? How long does it take for Amanda to feel entirely at home among them?


• Amanda Frisby/David Martelo (Band Sinister) - I want to see more of their married life! Amanda bouncing plot troubles off of David and borrowing him to work out if an action she wants to describe is physically plausible, David coming home from an exhausting day at work and Amanda comforting him, Amanda getting used to the freedom of being away from Yarlcote for the first time since her season. And I am very interested in Amanda’s conversion to Judaism, and would love to see more about that, or just about her and David celebrating holidays together or something similar.


• Lord Corvin/Guy Frisby/John Raven/Philip Rookwood (The Murder) - I would love to see their first few weeks/months/whatever post-book learning how they fit together. I’m totally down for fluff, but also for a bit of angst with Guy feeling insecure about his place in such a long-running relationship, Corvin and/or John feeling insecure about Philip being enthralled enough with his new beau that he leaves them behind, Philip worrying about balancing his relationships with the other three, etc. Porn-wise I would so love to see their first time having sex all together, especially if it’s Guy who initiates the foursome. I also so want to see Guy’s horizons being broadened, in all senses! I’d love to see him getting to experience more of England or possibly going abroad, and also getting to try new thigns sexually. Also – any of the characters giving Guy erotic literature! He deserves better than surreptitiously gathered unexpurgated Latin texts.

• Medium Opt-In: 'A Softer World' style art: I just really love the Softer World style, and would love to see it for my fandoms! You can take the words from existing comics or make your own.


• Medium Opt-In: Cocktail Recipes - I nommed this thinking of cocktails inspired by characters/ships, but I realized post-nominations that it could be taken as cocktail recipes that the characters have collected and possibly annotated, and I would also enjoy that! For the former, I really enjoy themed cocktails and would love to see anything inspired by this fandom! For ships, I am down for one cocktail that encompasses the whole grouping, or a group of cocktails themed after each of the members of the ship. I have pretty broad tastes, so you can go wild! For the latter, I really love in-universe writing and would love to see what you think the characters would drink. (I am not sure if cocktails were really a thing during this era, but feel free to ignore that if you wish.) Snarky comments about each others’ tastes in drinks are very welcome.


• Medium Opt-In: Fanmixes – there are no genres of music I dislike, although I’m especially fond of country, folk, rap, and hip-hop. Something that incorporates music from canon era would also be fun!


• Medium Opt-In: In-Universe Fan letters – so Amanda and John would both be good fits for receiving fan mail, and I would love to see the kinds of mail they get from their fans.

• Medium Opt In: Art - Point - Pixel Art – any art style is great, but I wanted to specifically opt into pixel art! I love seeing how character designs, locations, etc are translated into the pixel style


• Medium Opt-In: Tarot Card – I really love seeing what cards you would place any given character as! For the ships, one card for each individual character is more than shippy enough for me if you’d prefer that to including the whole ship on a single card.


• Medium Opt-In: Playing Card – I just love the style of playing cards and would love to see the characters as face cards, and/or a themed card back for the fandom. For the ships, one card for each individual character is more than shippy enough for me since it would be hard to include the whole ship on a single card.


• Medium Opt-In: Podfic – I have read and enjoyed every single fic in the fandom tag, although I’m not sure if all of the authors allow podfic of their works (I do love podfic of my own works!)


• Medium Opt-In: Epistolary – I would love any and all takes on any of my requested characters/ships writing to each other or to other characters. Corvin, John, and/or Philip keeping up with each other or other members of the Murder? Amanda and Guy writing to each other now that they don’t live together anymore, or Amanda and Corvin corresponding over her latest novel? Amanda writing to other authors? (If you’ve read Wanted, a Gentleman, a crossover where Amanda and Theodore Swann end up corresponding would be very fun!) One thing I like about historical epistolary fic with queer ships is watching how the characters write around or allude to their relationships without flat-out committing them to paper (or perhaps some of these characters would not care and would full-on sext each other by post!)


• Medium Opt In: Unique Rules - Cross Stitch Pattern – I love to cross stitch but I am horrible at designing my own patterns, so really I just want to see what you come up with! My main ideas are favorite quotes from canon or little chibi-style figures of my requested characters/ships, but I have broad tastes in cross stitch so anything is great!


• Medium Opt In: Writing - Reddit: In-Universe Reddit Post On Any Subreddit (Post + Replies) – Modern AUs are great, AUs where everything in canon is the same but 19th century England has Reddit are amazing. AITA posts covering the events of canon or fanfic, a location-based sub gossiping about the Murder, Amanda on writing/author subreddits...

Characters/Ships

• Ayasha January/Benjamin January/Rose Vitrac January (Benjamin January) – AU where Ayasha survives and both she and Ben return to New Orleans together? Ayasha somehow comes back to life? Rose ends up in Paris? Go with whatever setup you’d like to bring these three together, I would just so love to see this triad be a thing. I’ve been thinking for a while about an AU that steals the premise from Blithe Spirit, where Ben and Rose hire a medium for a séance as part of an investigation but whoops, turns out the medium is legit and now Ben’s first wife is hanging around as a ghost. (Presumably it would go a lot better than in the original play, Ayasha doesn’t seem like the type to want to break up Ben’s new marriage)


• Ayasha January/Rose Vitrac January (Benjamin January) – my first thought here is an AU where Ayasha is the one who survives the cholera epidemic in place of Ben, and travels back to New Orleans perhaps as an attempt to feel closer to him. But you could use any setup you’d like! I feel like both Ayasha and Rose have a lot in common, both having rebelled against what their family wanted of them and both being very skilled in their chosen fields. I just want to see anything with them interacting/in love!


• Benjamin January/Rose Vitrac January/Hannibal Sefton (Benjamin January) - I love the friendship dynamic of these three in the books, and I’d love anything that expands that dynamic to a romantic relationship. I’d love to see how the three of them ended up as a triad, or any events of the books reexamined from a shippy perspective. I’d also love to see them doing science or making music or solving mysteries together, or hurt/comfort (either stemming from one of the times any of them is injured or traumatized in the books, or an original incident). Id Pro Quo made me want a "character/s travel to the Underworld to save their loved one" fic where Hannibal dies and Ben and/or Rose have to go and save him in an Orpheus-and-Eurydice-style rescue, if you want to run with that!


• Chloë Viellard/Dominique Viellard (Benjamin January) - I’d love a first time fic, showing how these two came to like each other or love each other (or their first kiss or first time having sex). I also headcanon Minou as very into ridiculous sexy roleplay, and I’d love to see her trying to talk Chloë into joining her in this. I’d also love to see the two of them interacting with Charmian.


• Olympe Corbier & Benjamin January (Benjamin January) – Please give me all the sibling interactions! I am very interested in seeing more of these two prior to Ben leaving for France, and/or how their relationship changed when Ben returned. I would also love to see Olympe helping with an investigation (her connections in the voodoo community are the obvious route to take there, but you can go with anything!) I also really enjoy seeing Ben interacting with Olympe’s religion, and would love to see something along those lines.


• Olympe Corbier & Benjamin January & Dominique Viellard (Benjamin January) – I just really want to see all three of the January siblings interacting! I’m not sure we see much in canon of how close Minou and Olympe were pre-canon, and of course Ben barely knew Minou, so I’d love to see all three of them together once Ben returns to New Orleans, gradually getting to (re-)know each other. And perhaps solving mysteries together! Minou and Olympe both have skill sets and connections that could come in very handy for Ben (and have on different occasions in the books) and I would love to see a case that brings all three of them to work together.

• Medium Opt-In: Recipe Book – I saw this and immediately thought of what sorts of recipes all of the characters would have, and what notes they might leave on a recipe book. Perhaps it starts as a gift from Gabriel and all the members of the ship comment on and modify their favorite recipes. Historical recipes are really fun, but don’t feel like you have to do a ton of research for this if you don’t want to!


• Medium Opt-In: Remix - Fic Remix of my Fic, Medium Opt-In: Remix - Art Remix of my Fic – I haven’t written fic for all of these ships, but I have for some. Please feel free to go wild with your remix!

The Old Guard (Movie 2020)

For this fandom I DNW parent/child dynamics between Nile and the other immortals. I also DNW monogamous Nile/Booker (the ship as part of larger polyships is great!)

Feel free to keep Andy mortal or re-immortalize her, and to keep Booker exiled or welcome him back into the team. I didn’t specifically request Joe/Nicky because there are already so many wonderful fanworks about them, but you are welcome to include the ship in gifts.

I haven’t read the comics, and I prefer movie appearances and characterization where they diverge, but feel free to use any details from the comics you’d like as long as you don’t directly contradict movie canon.

In general, feel free to set works during any era, and to cross over with any fandoms! Especially historical fandoms. You can check out my AO3 or ask through the mods if you want to see if I’m familiar with a fandom, but I’m open to crossovers from any canons even if I don’t know them.

Characters/Ships

• Solo: Andy – I am so incredibly fascinated by how old Andy is. If we go by comics canon, she’s been alive for over six centuries! She has seen so many empires rise and fall! She was probably around when Proto-Indo-European was spoken! What does living that long do to someone? I also love her relationship with the other immortals (past and present) and love all possible Andy ships and friendships. And adjusting to being mortal again! (Or possibly a fanwork showing how she regains her immortality.)


• Solo: Booker – I love sad sack Booker and his relationship to his family and his status as the baby of the group (until Nile arrives). I can’t remember if this is movie canon or just comics, but him getting hanged for desertion and just left there resurrecting for days is so deliciously angsty and I’m here for any and all fanworks exploring that. And I’d be really into Booker having Strong Opinions about Napoleonic France, and expressing those in forum wars or strongly-worded letters to academics or something similar.


• Solo: James Copley – Copley’s grief is so compelling to me and I’d love fanworks focused on it. I am also really into his research into the immortals and I would love to see any insight into his research. I also really want to see him interacting with the immortals!


• Solo: Joe – I love Joe so much and I want to see everything about his life through the centuries! Also I would love to see him whumped, and then potentially comforted by Nicky and the team. Much like Booker, I would love to see him having Strong Opinions about medieval Middle Eastern scholarship, and whatever way you think he might express those opinions. Also Joe writing poetry! There are already some great fics with his poetry about Nicky being discovered but I always want more of that.


• Solo: Nicky – I am repeating myself a bit here, but Nicky having Strong Opinions about medieval Christianity and/or theology in general, and arguing with people online and/or academics about it. And literally any smut is great but I am especially fond of top!Nicky


• Solo: Nile Freeman – I love Nile as the outsider POV on this whole situation and I would really love to see her adjusting to life as an immortal. I’d also love to see what sort of ‘culture’ clashes could come up living with people who are centuries old, pre-canon works about her relationships with her friends/fellow soldiers, something about her meeting up with her family post-immortality (listen I know it didn’t go well for Booker but who says it won’t go better for Nile?), Nile learning new languages and fighting techniques and getting to travel the world.


• Solo: Quynh – we see so little of Quynh in the movie but she is so fascinating! I want to see her life prior to the ocean, or what she does when she gets free. There is so much to adjust to after 500 years have passed – I would love to see Quynh adjusting to modern technology, etc. Quynh rejoining the group is great, Quynh Trash Party where she tortures and/or noncons whichever characters you’d like is also great. Also Quynh finding out Andy is mortal! (Possibly by grievously wounding and/or killing her)


• Andy & Booker & Nile Freeman & Joe & Nicky – Team fanworks! Team fanworks! I just want everyone hanging out together or going on missions together or reminiscing about their past.


• Andy & Booker & Joe & Nicky & Nile & Quynh – Everything above, but also Quynh rejoining the team!!!


• Andy/Nile Freeman – Listen their first fight scene was like everything I want out of my femslash ships. I love the age/experience gap, but also that there might be some things Nile can show Andy about the modern world, or remind her about being mortal. Nile lovingly tending to Andy’s wounds is also great!


• Andy/Quynh – I want alllll the pre-canon works for these two. Two ancient warriors travelling the plains together is like, an amazing ship dynamic. I am also very into the language barrier, and would love to see them learning each other’s languages when they first meet. Exploring new lands together is also great, as is sex in the blood of their enemies.


• Andy/Nicky/Joe/Nile/Booker – I just want the whole team in a big tangled polyamorous relationship. Gangbangs, orgies, casual kisses after battles, different characters pairing up at different times, whichever direction you’d like to go!


• Andy/Nicky/Joe/Nile/Booker/Quynh – see above, but with Quynh added into the mix after she returns from the ocean. I’d love to see her readjusting to the world and to the new dynamics among the group now that there are two new members and she’s been gone for so long.


• Andy/Nicky/Joe/Quynh – I am especially thinking pre-canon with this, with the four of them hooking up/etc while traveling together. I’d love to see how the group initially comes together, or just snapshots from their life pre-Quynh’s disappearance.


• Any Immortal & Any Historical Figure, Any Immortal/Any Historical Figure – listen I just want to see some fic/art/other fanworks showing any of my requested characters interacting with historical figures. We know Andy apparently hooked up with Rodin, did she have flings with any other artists? Have Joe and Nicky had a string of threesomes/moresomes over the centuries? Did Booker have a Big Bi Awakening with some turn of the century poet? Please feel free to use Quynh or Lykon as well if you would like!


• Booker/James Copley – I would really love to see Booker and Copley growing close post-Booker’s exile, with Copley perhaps keeping an eye on him and that turning into something more. I would love to see them opening up about their grief to each other, or something about Booker angry with himself for caring about another mortal after how things with his family turned out


• Joe/Nicky/James Copley – listen, Copley has been spending a lot of time over the years carefully chronicling the lives of the immortals. Maybe he’s developed a crush. Maybe he spends late nights in front of his conspiracy board fantasizing about being the filling in a Joe and Nicky sandwich. Maybe his wishes come to fruition?


• Nile Freeman/Quynh – I realize they have literally never met but I am so into the potential here! I would love to see Quynh returning and her and Nile falling for each other (monogamous or a poly relationship with Andy are both welcome!) Nile helping Quynh learn how modern technology works and to adjust to life above water in general. Or in a completely different tack, Quynh coming out of the ocean as an evil mastermind and taking Nile captive – I love some good f/f dubcon or noncon, and I could see a dynamic where Quynh hates the rest of the group for abandoning her and continuing to take in new immortals, and takes and tortures Nile as revenge.


• WB: Any – I would especially love to see you dig into the way immortality works in this universe, or if there are other immortals around that the canonical group doesn’t know about!

• Medium Opt-In: In-Universe Academic Publication – there’s already a few great fics out there about the characters interacting with academic publications about themselves, but I want so many more. Does someone write a paper on Joe’s poetry, or the legends surrounding Andromache and Quynh? Does someone find documentation of an Asian woman being killed in English witch trials and research it? Does Nicky’s name come up in research on the Crusades? Or any of the characters reading and having Opinions on any academic publications, possibly through snarky annotations, would be delightful (I feel like Booker probably has a lot of opinions on Napoleon, for one).


• Medium Opt-In: Mission Report – You can take or leave this setup, but I am imagining Copley wanting them to start writing mission reports post-movie for documentation purposes. Nile is on board, the rest of the team not so much. I would love to see what writing style you think any character/s would have, and/or who is Absolutely Done with mission reports and completely half-asses it. Also I want to see what missions they go on post-movie!


• Medium Opt-In: Recipe Book – The team seems to put a decent amount of effort into cooking, and I would love to see a recipe book they’ve created filled with their favorite recipes from different regions and eras. Joe being an avid poster on medieval Middle Eastern history on r/askhistorians but occasionally getting in trouble for uncited statements where the citation would be "I lived through it"! Booker making friends on Reddit during his exile! Any of the team hanging out in a historian’s AMA and asking very pointed questions critiquing their research! I am very into Maisie assuming Phoebe is straight and that her pining will be forever unrequited, only to have Phoebe casually mention an ex-girlfriend (perhaps during her campaign to make sure Maisie is all right with queer people during book 2). Phoebe and Maisie bonding over clothes design is also delightful. Maisie designing dresses for Phoebe, or perhaps lingerie for Phoebe, and perhaps getting jealous of the men who will see Phoebe in them/take them off of Phoebe. And both of them dealing with the aftermath of the trilogy would also be wonderful, they've both gone through so much!


• Will Darling/Kim Secretan (The Will Darling Adventures) – First off, I'd love to see more from Kim's POV. I'd also love to see something post-canon, either the two of them relaxing together or getting wrapped up in more conspiracies. I'd also love to see the two of them gifting each other books! The cultural differences in how sexuality is viewed seem like they could lead to a fun ship dynamic, with Kay feeling more guilty about the romantic feelings and Mildmay feeling more guilty about the sex. And I would just really love to see more of them interacting post-canon, and both of them ending up happier!


• Mildmay Foxe/Any Male Character (DoL – Monette) All I want is to see Mildmay’s Big Bisexual Janus Awakening. His insistence that he’s not molly seems very tied to his past with Kholkis and I would love to see him having a trauma reaction to realizing he’s attracted to/in love with a man. I’d also love to see someone force him to lie back and enjoy himself in bed instead of being so giving (which also seems tied to his past, so you could go hurt/comfort and/or traumatic backstory exploration with that too). Mildmay’s shame about his intelligence and scar and speech difficulties and limp made me love him so much, and I would love to see a lover who maybe helps him work through some of that self-hatred. I also really love his storytelling and endless history/folklore knowledge!! Mildmay noncon is also very welcome (I'd prefer Felix not be the rapist, although fuck or die is great)


• Mildmay Foxe/Felix Harrowgate (DoL – Monette) - I love these two anywhere on the spectrum from fully consensual to fuck-or-die (although I’d prefer no Felix raping Mildmay of his own volition or vice versa). The obligation d’ame is very fertile grounds for some soulbond-sex, I’d love to see sex while they’re bonded. I am also especially into post-canon-set works – I love the way we see their relationship grow through the books, and how much better of a place they’re in by the end of the books (of course, since it’s Felix and Mildmay, they’re both still kinda fucked up). • Simon Basset/Anthony Bridgerton/Daphne Bridgerton (Bridgerton TV) - All of the Anthony/Daphne above still goes. I’m especially interested in how the threesome comes together. Which one of them proposes it? Maybe while Simon and Daphne are estranged, she seeks comfort in Anthony’s arms, and things get less-than-platonic. Maybe Simon and Anthony had a relationship prior to the marriage, and Daphne catches on and proposes that Anthony join them in bed. Maybe Anthony comes for a visit and ends up lurking outside of the bedroom (or the library, or the garden, or…) while Daphne and Simon bang, and that leads to a threesome. I'd also be very into an AU where Simon is a trans man and that's why he's so opposed to marriage and heirs – he wouldn't actually be able to get any wife pregnant. My crack theory for why Simon is missing for all of season 2 is that he and Daphne have discovered the secret to mpreg and he is in seclusion back home at his estate, if you want to roll with that! If you're getting meatier with worldbuilding, you can go with a world where mpreg exists (and I'd really love to see how that might impact the slightly altered Regency social norms that exist in Bridgerton), or have this be a one-off thing where Simon is The Only Cis Man Who Can Get Pregnant (or maybe you combine this with an AU where he's trans? Feel free to do PIV here if you want to do this for Anthony/Simon/Daphne, or go for magical/etc impregnation, secret threesome with OC or other character for pregnancy purposes, ye olde turkey baster, etc). And this ship section is already getting very long, but another niche AU concept I have for these two is that Nigel Berbrooke succeeds in raping Daphne (or perhaps an OC rapes her) resulting in a pregnancy, and Simon marries her to save her honor. A few more thoughts in my AUExchange letter if you're into it.


• Daphne Bridgerton/Marina Thompson (Bridgerton (TV)) – I am very in love with the idea of Marina moving in with Daphne as a solution to her pregnancy instead of pursuing Colin. After all, Daphne is a duchess, so she can somewhat shield Marina's reputation. Perhaps they make a plan to have Marina hide away for a bit and then have Daphne claim Marina's baby as her own? Maybe the two start a torrid affair when Daphne is on a break from Simon (possibly started by Daphne asking Marina about fertility or sex)? Or hatesex due to Marina's pursuit of Colin would also be fun!



• Daphne Bridgerton/Marina Thompson/Simon Basset (Bridgerton (TV)) – Everything from my Daphne/Marina prompts is also good here! If you go for Daphne hooking up with Marina while she's temporarily broken up with Simon, perhaps Simon and Daphne reconcile but Daphne is reluctant to break up with her girlfriend, and a poly V or triad ensues. The three of them slowly falling in love with each other after they agree to host Marina during her pregnancy would also be great – maybe this starts as a bargain Daphne makes to keep Marina from pursuing her brother, and so there's hostility to begin with, but they slowly grow to like and love each other.


• Benedict Bridgerton/Any Male Character (Bridgerton TV) – I just think Benedict should be bi! And I want shipfic/art/fanworks about it! (By any here, I do mean any, I'm totally down with incest or crossovers or OCs.) Perhaps Benedict meets someone at art school (or hooks up with that artist he had Meaningful Eye Contact with). Perhaps he follows Eloise on one of her outings trying to see what she's up to and meets a dashing print shop employee/working-class fellow/revolutionary/etc.


• Eloise Bridgerton/Any Female Character (Bridgerton TV) -please, I just so desperately want any lesbian!Eloise (or bi/queer/etc!Eloise) fanworks! I would really love to see her have a sexual awakening with Penelope, Marina, Daphne...or a dapper OFC to show up to sweep her off her feet. Perhaps someone giving Eloise some sex ed while she’s on her quest to find out how babies are made, or she meets a scandalously butch noblewoman at a ball and begins to see a life for herself that isn’t just getting married to a respectable young man.


• Daphne Bridgerton/Eloise Bridgerton (Bridgerton (TV)) - My first thought here is Daphne explaining sex to Eloise so that Eloise doesn’t end up in the same situation she was in, and then things escalate into some hands-on demonstrations. Or perhaps Eloise corners Daphne after she gets pregnant and demands to know how it happened. The two making out/having sex pre-marriage would also be great! (There’s some great angst potential if you factor a Daphne/Eloise relationship into Daphne’s desire for and Eloise’s fear of marriage too!)


• Eloise Bridgerton/Penelope Featherington (Bridgerton TV) – I just love the friendship between these two so much, and I want them to kiss! You know the scene in season 2 where they sneak off from a ball together to talk? They should do that and also kiss. This is a great ship for a friends-to-lovers arc, and also a great ship for some juicy betrayal, with Penelope hiding that she's Lady Whistledown and also feeling hurt as Eloise spends more and more time away from her.


• Eloise Bridgerton/Marina Thompson/Penelope Featherington (Bridgerton (TV)) – Maybe Eloise and Penelope ask Marina how pregnancy happens, and things escalate into some hands-on lessons? Maybe the other two end up comforting Marina over her horrible suitors? Maybe Penelope and/or Eloise trying to warn Marina off of Colin ends in hatesex?


• WB: Societal Changes Due to George III's Marriage to Charlotte (Bridgerton TV) – So canon has not devoted much time to explaining how exactly this marriage brought about greater racial equality in Bridgerton's alt-Regency England, but I'm so fascinated by the implications. Who were the first people of color to be granted titles, and how did that transition go for them? What legal changes were put in place? How long did it take for society to get from the historical England we know to the racism-free England we see in Bridgerton? I would just love to see someone overanalyze the series' worldbuilding like I've been finding myself doing.


• Queen Charlotte/Edwina Sharma (Bridgerton TV) – I accidentally talked myself into shipping this after proposing it as a crack ship and I can't stop thinking about it now. Perhaps the Queen is giving Edwina guidance after choosing her as the jewel of the season, and this slowly grows into a relationship. Perhaps the Queen hires Edwina as a companion after her marriage falls through. And see after my next ship for some cracky worldbuilding prompts!


• Queen Charlotte/Eloise Bridgerton (Bridgerton TV) – This is another crackship I've talked myself into, but listen! They have vibes! The Queen asking Eloise to investigate Lady Whistledown has some great ship potential, or perhaps the Queen hires Eloise as a companion, giving Eloise her desire of exploring the world and having an existence outside of searching for a husband of status.


• And some AU worldbuilding-centric prompts for the Queen Charlotte f/f that I can't stop thinking about. Okay, so we know that King George's marriage to Charlotte caused a great societal change and basically ended racism in England. Imagine a world where King George dies a bit before Bridgerton takes place, leaving Queen Charlotte just out of mourning at the beginning of season 2. The Dowager Queen decides it's time for her to remarry, and takes Eloise or Edwina as her wife. Given the precedent, this will now cause a progression towards a homophobia-free 19th century England, as well as necessitating drastic legal upheaval to normalize marriage regardless of gender (and by extension bringing some measure of gender equality). And if that sounds interesting to you I would really like to see what you would do with this AU!

Is anyone scientifically studying ghosts, magic, precognition, etc?


• Jo Caldwell & Sam Caldwell (Simon Feximal Series) – I would love to see what these two were up to pre-canon, or their views on any supernatural inter- or post-canon adventures!


• Solo: Theodosia Kay (Simon Feximal Series) – Would love to see any of canon or pre-canon events from her point of view, or really just anything more about Miss Kay! She is fascinating and we see so comparatively little of her in canon


• Robert Caldwell/Simon Feximal (Simon Feximal Series) – Honestly I just want to see them taking on more paranormal challenges together! I am happy with a snippet of a ghost or monster if you don't want to write/draw out a full case. I would also love to see more of their interactions with Sam and Jo, since in canon we basically only get their first meeting and then Sam as an adult in Spectred Isle. Porn without plot is also very welcome, and it would be very fun if the connection between Robert and Simon to siphon off Simon's pain also allows them to share each other's pleasure.


• Robert Caldwell/Simon Feximal & Jo Caldwell & Sam Caldwell (Simon Feximal Series) – adopting children is my fave setup for kidfic and I was thrilled canon gave it to me, and I really want to see how these four become a family. The kids being involved in supernatural shenanigans is also very welcome!

• WB: Any (The Queen's Thief - Megan Whalen Turner) – I am especially fond of the gods/mythology and the politics of canon. We see so many countries that the series barely touches on and I'd love to see more of those, as well as about the countries we spend the books in.


• WB: Myths and Legends (Queen's Thief)


• Attolia/Eugenides (Queen's Thief) – I just love these two so much. The fucked up backstory! The politics! The way we mostly see their relationship through an outsider POV post-marriage, leaving tons of room for fanworks!


• Relius/Teleus (Queen's Thief) – I love what we see of their relationship in the books, and just really want more about them. As with Gen/Attolia, us seeing their relationship only from an outsider POV leaves lots of room for explorations of canon events from Relius or Teleus's POV, and I would also love to see more of their jobs


• Eddis/Sophos (Queen's Thief) – I'm a broken record about the canon ships, but I just love these two! Would love to see their POV on events from books where Sophos doesn't narrate, or what their life is like post-canon.


• Eugenides & Kamet (Queen's Thief) – their friendship is fascinating to me and I would love to see more of Gen and Kamet spending time together during Queen of Attolia, as we find out in Thick as Thieves that they did, or their relationship after Gen steals Kamet


• The Magus & Sophos (Queen's Thief), The Magus/Sophos (Queen's Thief) – I love all of their interactions in the series. The point where Sophos is king but still feels like the Magus's politically insignificant student and the changes to their relationship as Sophos grows into his kinghood is a particularly fascinating point in time from a fanworks perspective. And as for the ship version – listen, I just think they should kiss and/or fuck. I think it would be neat if Sophos had like a hero-worship thing about the Magus that grew into a crush, and I would love to see how the Magus would approach the relationship


• Eddis/The Magus/Sophos (Queen's Thief) – We get such great Sophos&Magus and Eddis&Magus interactions in canon, and I think they would be such a fun threesome. Perhaps all of them pining after each other until either Eddis or Sophos realizes they're all pining and proposes a threesome, or late nights talking strategy lead to loose lips and a confession of feelings from one of them.


• Solo: Eddis (Queen's Thief) – Eddis! I am so into her as a kind of gender nonconforming monarch, and in her status as The Last Eddis and leading her country into a loss of its nationhood as she prepares for a disaster that none of them know are coming. I just want to see more of her!


• Solo: Eugenides (Queen's Thief) – Gen! Would love to see his POV on any of the later books, where we're forcibly distanced from his perspective in canon, or really just anything you would like to do with him. His struggle with being king is so interesting to me, and I also really love him coming to terms with his disability and chronic illness


• Solo: Pheris (Queen's Thief) – during my first read through of Return of the Thief, I already loved Pheris but was so focused on how things would end and what would happen to all the other characters that this love did not have time to fully develop. I reread the series this year and my love for Pheris has reached new levels. I just want good things to happen to him! His childhood was so fucked up and I'm so happy he ended up at court with friends and mentors and parental figures! I want to know what his post-canon life is like! I would love to see him either fall in love or perhaps realize he is still not interested in romance at all! Just more Pheris please, I'm so sad we only got one book with him!


• Kamet & Pheris (Queen's Thief) – I really love the interactions these two have in canon, how Kamet is the first to recognize that Pheris is much more than he appears to be and also Kamet seems to relate to Pheris (the letter where Kamet tells Pheris how to refold it so that Relius won't notice at first that he's opened it is like emblematic of their relationship to me). Would also love to see them spending time together in the future when Pheris has grown up a bit!


• Relius & Pheris (Queen's Thief) – I really love the tutoring and relationship we see in canon and I want to see more of it! Either something set during canon or something post-canon where we see how their relationship develops as Pheris grows into adulthood. I love Relius pushing for Pheris to learn useful things while still rewarding him with mathematics in canon, and I am just very emotional about Pheris having a good mentor


• Attolia/Eddis/Eugenides/Sophos (Queen's Thief) - Return of the Thief made me desperately want all of the monarchs in a poly relationship. Perhaps something with Attolia, Eddis, and Sophos back home worrying about Gen, or them all reuniting after their victory. I also really love the idea that they can be themselves rather than their ruler identities around each other.


• Attolia/Eugenides/Costis Ormentiedes (Queen's Thief) - One of my favorite things about this ship is the power imbalance. Costis very clearly views Attolia and Eugenides as monarchs rather than humans, which would make his relationship with them very interesting indeed? Who invites him to bed? Do they prefer to order him around, or let him take charge? If you want to get into D/s dynamics, I have a vague headcanon that Gen is a stubborn and mouthy sub—although things with Irene are complicated now because of their history, of course (maybe that’s where Costis comes in!). I’d love to see the same themes of overcoming power imbalance in non-porny works as well. I’d also love to see more of Attolia and Costis interacting, if you’d like. We see a fair bit of Gen and Costis interacting in The King Of Attolia, but I’d love to see Costis and Irene talk, especially involved in this romantic relationship (whether as a triad or two sides of a V).


• Costis Ormentiedes/Kamet (Queen's Thief) - The culture clash between these two, Kamet adapting to life as a freedman, the sharing of myths and legends, Costis's mediocre Medean...there's nothing I don't love about these two and I desperately want more shippy content for them in my life. I'd love to see Kamet telling Costis more legends, how a romantic relationship would develop in parallel to the events in TaT, or what the two of them get up to during or after Return of the Thief (especially the war from their point of view!)


• Eugenides/Sophos (Queen's Thief) - I'm interested in these two anywhere from during the events of The Thief to Return of the Thief and beyond. Thief-set gifts would be fun in terms of identity porn, with neither of them knowing who the other really is. It would also be really interesting to see how both would balance a personal relationship with their royal duties (we already see this with their friendship in canon, but I'd love to see how romance would play into it). I'd love to see them stealing a kiss or a moment together while having to hide from those who might see.


• Aristogiton/Costis (Queen's Thief) – I love that Aris is like, Costis's one connection to normalcy during King of Attolia, and I would love to see Aris's POV on any of the events of that book. I would also love something pre-canon with these two, or something about how the relationship fits into Costis's new life. (Feel free to throw Aris into any of my other Costis ships as well!)


• Attolia/Eugenides/Relius (Queen's Thief) - The platonic relationship we see in the books already fascinates me (the loyalty kink! The intersection of personal and political relationships!), and I’m so here for making it explicitly romantic. I’m especially interested in Relius’s imprisonment and the aftermath, but I’d also be into pre-canon Irene/Relius that grows to incorporate Eugenides (as an Irene-centered V or a triad), or pretty much anything involving this ship. I’m also really into the mess that results from tangling duties as a monarch with personal feelings.
