Accidental Soulbond – I like gen and ship soulbonds both! I’m especially fond of the variety where the bonded characters feel each other’s emotions and/or pain. A spell gone wrong on John’s part or the effect of a creature they face down would be good excuses for soulbonds

Bad Guys Made Them Do It – I’m especially into characters who are both into each other but think the other one isn’t being forced to fuck, and it being a catalyst for revealing their feelings. I’m also into forced threesomes if you wanna make my gen ship fuck!

BDSM - Inflicting Pain Until Character Has Much-needed Emotional Breakdown – John is the obvious target here, with all of his deep-seated issues that could do with some Therapeutic Kinky Sex. But Chas also has a lot of feelings you could draw on here!

Body Swap – I just love the Shenanigans of inhabiting someone else’s body and trying to figure out how to swap back. The cause could be a spell gone wrong or a magical trap they trip or anything else that comes to mind! (I am also very into “body swaps that can only be resolved by sex” if you want to go the John/Chas route.)

Buried Alive - Okay so John or Zed would be at much more obvious risk in this scenario, but don’t feel like that means you can’t bury Chas alive! It would be very fun to see villains bury him alive not realizing his extra-lives situation, and Chas dying several times while John and Zed search for him

Career-Ending Injury - I welcome this for any of the characters, but I only have a specific prompt for John. I’d love to see him unable to do magic anymore, and how he functions after his life purpose is taken away. My first thought is to have a bad guy cut John’s tongue out, but any injury is good!

Case Fic - I just want to see them investigating more supernatural cases together! I am especially fond of ghosts, and would also love anything drawn from urban legends and folklore

Attolia | Irene/Eugenides/Costis Ormentiedes - One of my favorite things about this ship is the power imbalance. Costis very clearly views Attolia and Eugenides as monarchs rather than humans, which would make his relationship with them very interesting indeed? Who invites him to bed? Do they prefer to order him around, or let him take charge? If you want to get into D/s dynamics, I have a vague headcanon that Gen is a stubborn and mouthy sub—although things with Irene are complicated now because of their history, of course (maybe that’s where Costis comes in!). I’d love to see the same themes of overcoming power imbalance in non-porny works as well. I’d also love to see more of Attolia and Costis interacting, if you’d like. We see a fair bit of Gen and Costis interacting in The King Of Attolia, but I’d love to see Costis and Irene talk, especially involved in this romantic relationship (whether as a triad or two sides of a V).

Attolia | Irene/Eddis | Helen/Eugenides/Sophos (Queen's Thief - MWT) - Return of the Thief made me desperately want all of the monarchs in a poly relationship. Perhaps something with Attolia, Eddis, and Sophos back home worrying about Gen, or them all reuniting after their victory. I also really love the idea that they can be themselves rather than their ruler identities around each other. I didn’t request the relevant tag because it didn’t work for all my ships, but I would love some post-miscarriage comfort for Attolia

Kamet/Costis Ormentiedes (Queen's Thief - MWT) - The culture clash between these two, Kamet adapting to life as a freedman, the sharing of myths and legends, Costis's mediocre Medean...there's nothing I don't love about these two and I desperately want more shippy content for them in my life. I'd love to see Kamet telling Costis more legends, how a romantic relationship would develop in parallel to the events in TaT, or what the two of them get up to during or after Return of the Thief (especially the war from their point of view!)

For Kamet, his backstory obviously lends itself very well to past rape (even if he doesn’t frame it to himself as rape). Also yes. Anywhere along the timeline from something horribly dysfunctional at the beginning of their relationship to something set post-canon when they might actually have a chance at a semi-functional relationship is great! I’m also good with Mildmay discovering feelings for Felix or him never reciprocating Felix’s feelings but sex still happening for Reasons. Mildmay would definitely be very weak for praise kink and I would love to see Felix take advantage of that. A fuck or die scenario would be great fun (I could see Mildmay thinking “die” is the better option but Felix making them go for “fuck”).

Kay Brightmore/Mildmay Foxe (Doctrine of Labyrinths - Monette) - Okay I loved their first interactions in Corambis (face-touching! Mildmay reading to Kay!) and I really want to see them fall for each other. The cultural differences in how sexuality is viewed seem like they could lead to a fun ship dynamic, with Kay feeling more guilty about the romantic feelings and Mildmay feeling more guilty about the sex. And I would just really love to see more of them interacting post-canon, and both of them ending up happier!

Mildmay Foxe/Original Male Character (Doctrine of Labyrinths - Monette) - Poly relationships also welcome!. I just desperately want Mildmay having a Big ~~Bisexua~~l Janus Awakening. His insistence that he’s not molly seems very tied to his past with Kholkis and I would love to see him having a trauma reaction to realizing he’s attracted to/in love with a man. I’d also love to see someone force him to lie back and enjoy himself in bed instead of being so giving (which also seems tied to his past, so you could go hurt/comfort and/or traumatic backstory exploration with that too).

Mildmay Foxe & Gideon Thraxios (Doctrine of Labyrinths - Monette) - I’m really fascinated by Mildmay and Gideon together. There’s an obvious gap in communication given that Gideon can’t psychically talk to Mildmay and Mildmay isn’t necessarily the most confident reader when they’re together, but I’d love to see them interact more

Accidental Baby Acquisition - listen I just desperately want to see Felix and/or Mildmay taking care of a baby (or older child), and perhaps the complicated emotions it might bring up about their own childhood/s.

Alternate Universe - Small Liberal Arts College - Okay I saw this tag and couldn’t stop thinking about it. Perhaps the small college is the Corambis analogue in Felix’s exile in this universe. Felix loves teaching, and I’d love to see him still teaching in a modern AU. I’d love to see what reasons you’d come up with for Mildmay having to come along with him. How did Kay and/or Mildmay get injured in this AU, and how do they feel about their disabilities? Are all of the characters professors? What subjects do they teach? And honestly I’d love to see how any of the characters’ backstories would translate to a modern AU; don’t feel obligated if you don’t find this sort of thing fun to write, but I’d love to see what you come up with.

Bodyswap AU: Two or more partners switch bodies until they resolve an argument - there are so many canonical arguments you could use as the impetus for this, and I would love to see the characters being forced into this metaphorical get-along shirt. Mildmay&Felix or Felix&Gideon seem like the obvious targets, but pick whoever you’d like!

Character with PTSD can't identify their triggers - The series is really good about showing characters messily dealing with their trauma, and I’d love to see any character dealing with unpredictable/unidentifiable triggers, perhaps with them blowing up at their friends/loved ones as a result

Chronic Pain - Mildmay has canonical chronic pain, and I’d love works delving into that, but feel free to take any (or all) of the other characters as well! Felix, Kay, and Gideon all have injuries in their backstories that could cause chronic pain, so feel free to use those as a jumping-off point

Coming to terms with the permanent effects of significant injuries - canonical or non-canonical injuries

descriptions of scars - or art of scars! (And if you draw Mildmay, I’d love something with a focus on his facial scarring)

Haunted by Ghost of Dead Abuser - we see Felix being metaphorically haunted by Malkar in canon, and it’d be really easy to push that over into a literal haunting at any point during or after canon. Mildmay being haunted by Kolkhis after he kills her would also be really interesting. THe other characters don’t have an obvious abuser for me to point to, but feel free to use them as well!

Max Liebermann/Oskar Rheinhardt (Vienna Blood (TV)) - I love the dynamic between Max and Oskar, everywhere from the beginning antagonism to their friendship by the end of the season. I’d love to see them kiss or otherwise admit their feelings after a particularly stressful moment on the job. Max applying his studies to the cases or himself or Oskar. I am also very into readings/portrayals of Max as gay, where part of his difficulties with his relationship with his fiancee is that he’s not interested in women and just hasn’t figured that out yet
