Hi! I'm within_a_dream on AO3, and you can read my previous letters here if you want to see some of my previous exchange requests! Unlike most exchanges, I'm requesting fic only for this exchange (except for Baldur's Gate, where I'm also requesting art). I am totally open to art treats, but all my freeforms are very plot-oriented so for ease of matching I'm requesting only fic for my main gift. Opting into: abortions, miscarriages, stillbirths. Basically just don't kill a baby who's already been born and onscreen alive and we're good! Past infant or child deaths are also welcome (and would make sense with some of my canons, historical figures being worried about the ways they've seen other infants die), it's just current infants I don't want to die. I'm also totally down for my pregnant characters choosing to continue to term, and also discussing abortion but in the end deciding to continue to term.

I'm also very flexible ship-wise. Feel free to include any background ships, and in many cases I'm fine with you adding more characters to a ship (I'll clarify in those letter segments). Canon ships are always fine to include.

Forced Pregnancy as Part of Science Experimentation

Impregnated During Captivity and Must Escape While Pregnant

My main thought here is – so, Andy has lost her immortality during the time Merrick has the team captive. What if that captivity lasts a little longer, and Andy's loss of immortality also brings with it a return of fertility? What if, either through some very scientific IVF or less-scientific rape or fuck-or-die with her teammates (assuming for porn reasons that they are able to make immortal semen non-sterile), Andy gets pregnant? And then, obviously, she kicks ass and escapes, and then is left to deal with the pregnancy.

Very interested in the complex emotions that this pregnancy might cause. On the one hand, this is something Merrick (or your choice of evil impregnating scientist, should you wish to set the fic sometime else) did to her, a memory of being powerless for the first time in centuries. On the other hand, Andy's blood family has been dead for millennia. Her culture has been dead for millennia. What would it mean to her to have a child of her own after all this time, after long ago writing it out as impossible? (What would it mean to Andy to sing a baby a lullaby in a language that she long ago thought she'd forgotten every word of?) And the anxiety of not knowing if the experimental conception also did something strange to the baby's aging or the baby's anything else.

I'm also very into the logistics of the pregnancy. They've got Copley to help cover up medical acquisitions and visits, but surely there's only so much he can do. And of the characters, Nile and Copley would be the only ones who have any sort of knowledge of modern obstetrics and childbirth, and I'd love to see Andy making a birth plan (although I'm sure she'd flat out refuse to call it "making a birth plan"). I have no justification for how this would happen, but Andy attending pre-birth classes (possibly with a different person in tow each time) and reacting to modern attitudes toward and expectations of pregnancy has the potential to be hilarious. (Outsider POV on all of the other class members trying to figure out what's up with Andy, perhaps?)

Characters Argue About Proper Infant Care – I am especially enamored with this because I assume our cast has had little to no reason to look into advances in cultural norms and knowledge about infant care since they became immortal, so we’ve got an incredibly wide range of historical ideas about how best to care for a baby

Caring For Child While Fighting Off Bad Guys – I just want to see the gang having to combine fighting off bad guys with protecting a baby/young kid (whether those bad guys are after the baby specifically, or they’re attacked for other reasons while they’ve also got a baby/kid in tow.

Bridgerton – Daphne in Disgrace
Ships:

Simon Basset/Daphne Bridgerton pregnant with someone else's baby (Bridgerton) – I just think it would be fun (for me) and traumatizing (for Daphne) if she gets pregnant during her season, and Simon proposes to save her virtue. It could be the result of rape (Nigel Berbrooke’s assault goes further? Anthony’s possessiveness takes a dark turn? Anthony or anyone else is able to coerce her into sex because she doesn’t know what they’re doing is actually sex?), an uncharacteristic fling, or any other ideas you have. This could be fun in conjunction with Simon’s reluctance to replicate his father’s abuse – he’s convinced he doesn’t have to care about this baby, and if he’s not its father he won’t run any risk of abusing it, only to find himself falling for the baby. I also think it would be a fun AU if one of the reasons Simon is so insistent on not marrying and having children is that he’s a trans man, and so marrying an already-pregnant wife is convenient.

Couple Brings in Third For Conception Purposes

Maybe Simon can’t be convinced to continue his family line, but he and Daphne decide that a baby with secret non-Simon paternity would be fitting revenge. Maybe Simon is a trans man (listen I think it would be a fun AU in terms of his insistence on never marrying!) and so they need someone else to knock Daphne up. Maybe Daphne and Anthony have been having a torrid incestuous affair and it works very well for Simon to let Anthony father his child. Or maybe you have another scenario in mind! Go wild, I’m open to anything.

Perhaps they could become friends, or perhaps they could fall for each other (especially in the period where Simon and Daphne are at odds)

Wrong Character Pregnant After Fertility Ritual

Yennefer has found a ritual that she’s sure will allow her to conceive, she just needs a fertile man and Jaskier is close at hand. And well, it works, but not in the way either of them intended. (As for the OT3, Geralt can be part of the ritual, part of a pre-existing relationship, or a relationship starts after Jaskier gets pregnant.) I”m especially into this in a universe where mpreg is rare or impossible – perhaps Yennefer or Geralt have seen it during their lives, but Jaskier had never thought of it as a possibility.

The Queen’s Thief

(My ship requests are mostly from previous letters and don’t mention the pregnancy, I’ve tried to elaborate more on theme-specific aspects in the tags section.)

Ships:

Pregnant Attolia/Eugenides (Queen's Thief) – I’d really love to see more of Attolia’s canonical pregnancies from her or Gen’s POV, since we observe them at a remove in canon. Or a future pregnancy!

Pregnant Attolia/Eugenides/Eddis/Sophos (Queen's Thief) - Return of the Thief made me desperately want all of the monarchs in a poly relationship. Perhaps something with Attolia, Eddis, and Sophos back home worrying about Gen, or them all reuniting after their victory. I also really love the idea that they can be themselves rather than their ruler identities around each other. I am also totally open to Eddis as well as Attolia being pregnant!

Pregnant Attolia & Eddis (Queen's Thief) – I always want to see more of these two interacting, and I feel like during pregnancy Attolia might need someone to turn to who at least conceptually understands the struggles of monarchy and pregnancy in a way her husband won’t. Attolia/Eddis also welcome!

Pregnant Attolia/Eugenides/Relius (Queen's Thief) - The platonic relationship we see in the books already fascinates me (the loyalty kink! The intersection of personal and political relationships!), and I’m so here for making it explicitly romantic. I’m especially interested in Relius’s imprisonment and the aftermath, but I’d also be into pre-canon Irene/Relius that grows to incorporate Eugenides (as an Irene-centered V or a triad), or pretty much anything involving this ship. I’m also really into the mess that results from tangling duties as a monarch with personal feelings.

Pregnant Attolia/Eugenides/Costis Ormentiedes (Queen's Thief) – I love works that play with how Costis’s views of Attolia and Eugenides change as they end up in a relationship. We see his disdain for the king change to respect over the course of King of Attolia, and I’d love to see how a relationship would play into that. And as for Attolia, Costis basically worships her, and I’d love to see how that worship fades into a more human respect and love.

Miscarriage Hurt/Comfort – I just really want more works with hurt/comfort for Attolia’s canonical miscarriage, the misery of which must have been amplified by her responsibilities (and existence in the public eye) as queen and need for an heir.

Polyship Enjoys PIV Without Fears of Unwanted Paternity While One Member is Pregnant – if you’ve seen any of my prior Queen’s Thief requests, you’ve probably seen me DNW PIV sex with Attolia or Eddis unless they’re pregnant. And Stork Swap is the perfect time to explicitly request PIV sex while Attolia (and Eddis, if you wish to do the foursome and have Eddis be pregnant too) is pregnant! I’m very into being able to fully relax during sex now that she knows there’s no chance of a conception with unwanted paternity, and enjoy types of sex she’s had to avoid before.

Couple Brings in Third For Conception Purposes – or asks their already-established third if he wouldn’t mind being the secret biological father of Attolia’s baby, as one does. For the reason behind it, perhaps Gen is trans, or infertile, or the gods have foretold that Eugenides cannot father their children at risk of catastrophe/recessive Eddisian genetic condition/etc (or if you want to get super angsty with it, Gen prays to the gods for the reason behind Attolia’s miscarriage and is told any children fathered by him won’t be born alive). I’m o into all the complicated emotions this would create, with Gen and Attolia needing to find someone they can trust to never reveal the baby’s true paternity, and the bio father having to agree to life at a remove form the baby he fathered, and probably feelings of inadequacy on Gen’s part. I would be very into Gen worrying about how he’ll feel about the baby and then as soon as the twins are born (assuming you go with canon), he loves them instantly and just like he was the one who conceived them. Also them finding a way to include the bio dad in the baby’s/babies’ lives in spite of the scrutiny the royal heirs would be under would be lovely.

I don't have a specific Tav or Dark Urge, but I'm happy for you to include your own in this fanwork! No preference on gender, race, etc. As far as character endings go, I'd like all the companions to end the game alive, and I've got a preference for spawn Astarion, but go wild!

Laezel & Hatched Githyanki Egg (BG3) – I will love any and all kidfic/art that you want to do of Lae’zel and a baby or older child Githyanki! But if you want to get more angsty and Thematic about it, I also think there’s a lot of potential in Lae’zel, once she’s charged with raising a child, trying to figure out what it actually means to be gith now that she knows the truth about Vlaakith, and what parts of her upbringing she wants to continue vs which parts she doesn’t want to pass on to a new generation. Any romantic Lae’zel ships you want to include are also welcome, although I have a special soft spot for all the origin characters +/- Tav in a polycule
