Yuletide 2020

Thank you for writing for me! I am within_a_dream on AO3, and you can read my previous letters here if you want to see some of my previous exchange requests! Any discrepancies in length are solely due to me having more to copy-paste from previous exchanges, and do not reflect which fandoms I’d prefer to receive (I love all of my requests!)

I love gen, f/f, m/m, het, and polyships, and feel free to include your favorite friendships and ships in your gift--I have very few NOTPs, and those that I do have are listed. I’ve put down a few favorite ships for each fandom, but please don’t hesitate to fill my prompts with gen fic/art if you would rather!If you write or draw smut, I will love literally any kink that's not in my DNW list. I love all genres and tones from the fluffiest fluff to the darkest angst to the raunchiest porn without plot.

I’m requesting historical fandoms of various eras this Yuletide, and I am totally here for anything along the spectrum of historical accuracy from "fic that comes with a bibliography and footnotes" to "history, what’s that?" Don’t feel obligated to research, although you are welcome to if you find it fun!

DNWs

• Pregnancy/childbirth – canon pregnancies are fine in written works, as are plots with children that imply characters have been pregnant in the past, but I’d prefer not to see pregnant characters in art and I’d prefer no vivid descriptions of pregnancy or related conditions/side effects like morning sickness, cravings, etc


• Modern/mundane AUs


• Trans characters having PIV sex (other vaginal penetration or use of dicks is great!)


• Clitoridectomy/penectomy or other major damage to genitals


• Kinks: oviposition, inflation, 24/7 D/s, breeding kink, stuffing/feederism


• Onscreen sex with preteen characters (CSA or sex offscreen is fine!)

There are a lot of things generally considered "opt-in" that I am totally fine with you including if you want to write them! You are free to include literally anything not in my DNWs, but a few things I am totally down for include:

• Any tense or POV (including 2nd person)


• Character death – canonical and noncanonical, including my requested characters – and fic about grief


• Graphic violence


• Rape/noncon


• Unusual formats, including epistolary, nonlinear or experimental prose, and interactive fiction

• Combining several of my requested ships into larger poly ships

General Likes

• Fic about canonical children, Accidental Child Acquisition of OC children (especially for characters who are not at all parental and have no idea what to do with kids)


• Casefic, with a loose definition of "case" that encompasses mysteries for mystery fandoms, paranormal investigations for fantasy canons, espionage for spy canons, etc


• Ghost stories! Particular favorites include the "ghostly hitchhiker" urban legend and the setup where characters need to spend the night in a haunted house for Reasons


• Recovery or aftermath – of canonical traumatic events or noncanonical torture, rape, murder attempts, etc


• Whump, hurt/comfort, hurt/no comfort


• Fantasy, horror, and Western AUs


• 5+1 fics


• Rule 63 AUs, especially canonically male characters in always-a-woman AUs (I would prefer that for any m/m or f/f ships, you take both members of the ship to a different gender rather than making canonically m/m or f/f ships het)

• Holiday fic! Seasonal or nonseasonal-to-Yuletide is great, and while I think Christian or Jewish holidays are the best fit for my requested characters, if you feel there’s another holiday that would b a good fit feel free to use it

Smut Likes

• Any and all sex acts (vaginal, anal, oral, manual, frottage, intercrural, fisting, double penetration, etc) are great! I am especially fond of het and f/f anal. I have no top/bottom preferences.


• My favorite words for genitals are cock and cunt, but I have no objections to whatever you’d like to use


• Pretty much anything under the BDSM umbrella. I am especially into unnegotiated or undernegotiated kink, and characters falling into kinky dynamics or things they enjoy (especially with the younger characters). I have no dom/sub preferences


• I would love noncon for any of my requested characters or fandoms – if you want to know more about what I like in dubcon or noncon I have a general list of kinks and tropes here in my Consent Issues letter. I generally prefer noncon with an OC or canonical antagonist as the rapist, and "fuck or die" setups between my requested characters are also great!


• Roleplay – I am into both serious roleplay and goofy scenarios that the characters can’t quite take seriously, and I am especially fond of rape roleplay/consensual non-consent


• Group sex, orgies, and gangbangs


• Gunplay, especially fucking someone with a gun


• Watersports – I am mostly into it for humiliation or marking aspects, and am neutral about drinking piss (and would prefer if any drinking happens it’s someone having their mouth pissed in directly rather than just drinking a glass of pee/etc)

Overlord

Ships I like: Boyce/Rosenfeld, Boyce/Rosenfeld/Tibbet, Boyce/Rosenfeld/Chloe, Boyce/Rosenfeld/Chloe/Tibbet

Where to Obtain: You can stream Overlord on Hulu (at least in the US)

• These two are already good friends by the time canon starts, and we get so little insight into their pasts – I would love to see how they got to know each other! Did they meet in basic training? Were they friends before they enlisted?


• I would love to see their further time at war post-movie (and wow, the Overlord characters having to go straight from fighting Nazi zombies to fighting regular Nazis is incredibly stressful, and I would like to see the aftermath of not having any time to relax after literally saving the world)


• I really want post-canon fic about Boyce and Rosenfeld’s lives after the war, especially something where they end up living together (platonically or romantically). Feel free to include Tibbet in this post-canon world! I am especially into stories where one or more of them end up with serious injuries from the war (missing limbs? Debilitating PTSD?)


• If you are down for heavy angst, I would love fic where one of them dies (and would be fine with fic that features only one of my two requested characters for this prompt, so long as it’s focused on the survivor’s grief about the other’s death)


• Perhaps they go back to visit Chloe after the war?


• The movie’s events happen so fast that I have trouble prompting for things that happen during canon, but please feel free to write missing scenes or something happening during canon if that’s what you’d like!

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

Characters Requested: Stella Nichols

• I love Stella’s love of horror and status as an outsider and issues with her mom leaving the family! I would especially love post-canon fic with her, trying to (and maybe succeeding in) saving Chuck and Auggie. I would love to see her ending up as a roving paranormal investigator! I’d also love to see how her relationship with Ramón would proceed post-canon, or something about her falling for Ruth.


• I love urban legends and ghost stories, and if you do too I would love to see Stella set up against your favorite tale (possibly with her friends by her side)


• I really enjoyed Stella and Sarah’s interactions, and would love gen or shipfic about these two! Stella telling Sarah’s story after the events of the plot would be very fun. I would also enjoy some ghost sex, anywhere along the consensual-to-noncon spectrum.


• Stella and Ramón writing letters to each other while he’s away at war! Perhaps Stella telling him about the supernatural things she’s facing back home and Ramón confiding in her about what he’s facing in Vietnam


• I loved the implication at the end of the movie that Stella and Ruthie are going to set off on a quest to retrieve Auggie and Chuck, and I’d love to see your take on that

Interview with an Anglo-Saxon in Old English

Where to Obtain: Free on Youtube! Part 1, Part 2. Make sure to turn on captions, as the Old English is translated via captions.

• -Interviewer: how did he end up back in time? (Or is it that the Anglo-Saxons have travelled forward to the present?) What is his relationship with Baldric like? Where did he learn Old English? Is he an academic, and if so, is he using his time travel for research?


• Baldric: This man has certainly led an interesting life! He seems like kind of a failure - his marriage, the livestock theft, the ill-fated trip to the north - and I'd love to see something showing how he or his family/friends feel about those things. I'm also really interested to see what he thinks of the Interviewer, and the Interviewer's strange devices. Oh, and I love stories that take historical characters into the present-day, so if you want to send him back to modern times with the Interviewer and have him explore modern England, I would love that.


• Crawa and Dunne: This is Baldric's wife (ex-wife now?) and her sister. We hear so little about them, but I couldn't resist requesting them. With the story Baldric gives, about how he was meant to marry one of them and ended up with the other, I really want to know how the sisters felt about that. And how Dunne felt about the death of her sister! And listen, I realize there's next to nothing to build on here, but I'm always up for incest shipping


• Crawa/Dunne: Listen, I will seize on any opportunity for sistercest. I’m intrigued by the little betrothed-swap that Baldric pulled, and I’d love to see how the sisters felt about that through an incestuous lens. And if you want to go darkfic, I’d love to see Crawa returning from the dead and visiting her sister (possibly with noncon)

Vienna Blood

Characters Requested: Max Liebermann, Oskar Rheinhart

Ships I Like: Max/Oskar (I don’t mind Max’s canon relationships, but I don’t particularly ship either of them, so I’d prefer not to have a gift entirely focused on those romances [although including them as a backdrop of fic focused on other events is fine!])

Where to Obtain: Available with a PBS Masterpiece subscription (and also appears to be uploaded to YouTube, should you be so inclined)

• I love the dynamic between Max and Oskar, everywhere from the beginning antagonism to their friendship by the end of the season. I want to see them solve more cases together, or maybe spend more time together off the job now that Oskar has warmed up to Max. I'd also enjoy Max applying his studies to the cases or himself or Oskar. I always love fics focused on undercover work. If you're down for writing something more serious, I'd like to see something exploring the antisemitism that we saw in the show, and how that affects the Liebermanns (and maybe a case for Max and Oskar that intersects with the group we saw in the show).


• For shippy works, I’d love to see them kiss or otherwise admit their feelings after a particularly stressful moment on the job. I am also very into readings/portrayals of Max as gay, where part of his difficulties with his relationship with his fiancee is that he’s not interested in women and just hasn’t figured that out yet. If you’d like to write smut, I’ve requested them for Smut for Smut


• I’d love to see more details about Max’s studies, and if you want to research turn-of-the-century psychology, feel free to go all-out with that! I especially enjoy seeing the places where the accepted practice at the time is very much not what we know in the present day


• Undercover As Gay! I really want to see the two of them in a case that involves delving into the gay subculture of Vienna. (And perhaps one or both of them knows about this subculture for Other Reasons and is desperately trying to hide that fact from their partner)

Society of Gentlemen

Characters Requested: Will Quex, Jonathan Shakespeare

• For this fandom, I'd also enjoy works focused on just one of them, especially if you're going into their backstories.


• I love what we see of these two in the books, and I would really love any fics about them, especially about the parts of their lives we don't see in the books. We get some details of their backstories in the series, but I'd love to see more, especially how they became the Quex and Shakespeare we know today, owners of Quex's and indispensable to lords. I'd also really love to see how they met, and how both of them met Cyprian. And seeing either of their perspectives on the events of the books is always fun.


• If you like to write smut, I really enjoy the fact that they canonically are big on threesomes, and I'd love to see the two of them with Silas and Dom, or with Cyprian, or with any other characters (including OCs and crossover characters) you'd like! Or just the two of them alone together would be very fun too, especially the idea of them being able to drop pretenses and just be themselves with each other. And I have more requests in my Smut for Smut letter for Shakespeare/Quex/Dom/Silas and Shakespeare/Quex/Cyprian if you fancy either of those ships (and the tags/prompts there are all things I’d enjoy for any smut)
